RU-21 in the US and UK. Claims of effectiveness are based primarily on anecdotal evidence, and there have been no known placebo controlled double blind studies published in peer reviewed scientific journals.

Hair Of The Dog. The hangover home remedy "hair of the dog" is a shortened form of the phrase "hair of the dog that bit you." The phrase is reported to come from the belief that consuming a concoction involving the hair of the dog would prevent becoming afflicted with the diseases such as rabies that the dog may carry.
An extension of the "hair of the dog" concept to hangovers claims that drinking additional alcohol will ease the effects of the hangover.
